I am at a bit of a loss. I am unsure where to go next with this blog. Our trip to Africa is over and now we are back to our regular everyday life. Don’t get me wrong, I am very grateful for my regular everyday life, it is just not filled with things I necessarily want to write about. While in Kenya no matter where I looked, my eyes took in something I wanted to capture and express. What am I looking at today? A lot of laundry that needs to find its way to the washing machine.
I know there are many blogs out there that capture the magic of the everyday. You can ponder just about anything and find something to write about. The blogs that do this can be truly insightful and I admire their work. I just don’t think I want to be one of them. That doesn’t mean the minutia of my life won’t one day stir me to share some random mediation. But overall I am not the kind of person that shares every musing. Instead I am a storyteller. Most of my personal writing is in story form and that is what I would like to explore in this blog. I want to imagine, ponder and wonder at the world through the lens of narrative.
So, expect this blog to be eclectic. Sometimes I may just update you on what God is doing in my life or I may post reflections on coffee grounds, bicycles or whatever else my brain happens to be chewing on. If we travel again (besides to the grocery story) I will share what we experience. There may even be moments when I pull out the rare gem of wisdom. But mostly I want to tell you stories.
